The Ashley River is the only Scenic River in the Lowcountry. Along her pluffmud banks lined with ginormous moss-draped centuries-old live oaks is a treasure trove of historically significant wonders. Three of which are 18th century plantations: Drayton Hall, Magnolia Plantation and Middleton Place. This three-mile stretch of the Ashley is known locally as plantation row.
